Please help me! I am such an idiot!?
I was recently stopped in london’s oxford circus by a modelling scout, I checked out the agency, they sent me a text asking if I’m interested in work and offered to pay for my portfolio. I went down to The Light Rooms, a studio based in the west end and was told by the agency and studio that I was going to be given work very soon. Though the agency had paid ?225 for the set, I was required to pay ?750, which I stupidly agreed to as I thought I was going to get work, I know it was only last thursday, and I haven’t heard from zebra collection the modelling agency..They have set up a direct debit on my account wanting to take 240 pound a month..I am not working, I am a student and I cannot afford this If they do not find me work. I really want to back out…is this possible…? Who would I need to contact to help me do this…and I did sign a document containing an invoice with the details of payment..
PLEASE HELP…honesty is the best medicine hear…as I’ve been such an idiot..
Why is this posted in ‘languages’??
By the way, it’s ‘here’ not ‘hear’.

I think you might be in a bit of trouble here. If you signed a contract then they have rights to take your money. If I were you I’d go to citizens advice - you can find your nearest office on the net if you google it. Sorry but I hope it all works out for you.

You need to find your nearest Citizens Advice Bureau, and talk to someone about your experience.
The contract you signed is almost certainly unenforceable (there is no benefit to you in continuing it, nor any harm to them if you default), but there may be several ways that this company can attempt to persuade you otherwise.
You need to cancel any direct debit in this company’s favour immediately.
The CAB will advise you on how to deal with any kind of pressure that is brought to bear; and also suggest to you whether you have any kind of redress (though this is probably unlikely).

A lawyer or the police or both, and PDQ — pretty darn quickly
Try the bank that issued you the debit card, too. I know VISA cards can cancel charges, especially if fraudulent
